Story
What We're Doing:
Father & son motorcycling duo (Rich & Dylan) are turning their annual summer road trip into the ultimate fundraising event, by riding 2000 miles from the UK to the famous Alps mountain range and back on a Honda Deauville.
Setting off on the 15th July 2024 from the heart of the South - West, Bristol, the pair will embark on their legendary adventure - passing through a total of 8 countries (England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland & Italy) and covering the whole Alpine tour in just 1 week.
All in aid of Jessie May children's hospice at home. We are aiming to raise £2000 for 2000 miles ridden, a £1 a mile, but hopefully, with your support, we can smash our target and raise even more crucial funds for this much needed charity. 100% of donations go directly to Jessie May.
Why We're Fundraising:
Jessie May is a charity that works very closely, at the centre of the pairs' family and has done for the past 15 years, ultimately helping to positively impact the family's day-to-day life. As Jessie-May provides the family with numerous invaluable respite visits per month. In providing such a key service, they care for the pivotal part and heart of the family, Tilly-May (Rich's daughter, Dylan's sister).
This truly incredible charity, made up of a team of everyday heroes (AKA nurses), supplies an unending, constant amount of support, advice, compassion and everlasting memories, to the families of Bristol and surrounding areas with a life limited child.
Jessie May was officially launched in 1996, we as a charity provide specialist nursing care for terminally ill children in their own homes. We offer end of life care and bereavement support, as well as vital respite sessions and emotional support to those children’s families. This allows families to make the most of the precious time they have together and to create treasured family memories.
Over the last 26 years the charity has supported over 300 children and their families across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath & North East Somerset, and Swindon & Wiltshire.
Jessie May are currently supporting over 190 children, and their families, across the South West.
