Story
We're doing it again! Ho ho ho! 🎅🎄
This year we are fundraising for the York Hospital Children's Ward (wards 17 & 18).
Over the last two and half years we have been - and continue to be - regular visitors to the Children's Ward at York Hospital with our son, Bertie, for his frequent respiratory and chest infections, which normally mean overnight stays. The doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants and the play-team are always incredibly supportive, friendly, kind, and caring to our son and to us. The level of care they provide is brilliant.
To say a big THANK YOU, we want to fundraise this year to help replenish, renew and improve the play facilities and toys on the ward. Play helps to distract children from their aches, pains and illness. It makes them feel at home and helps them to recover. To a parent of a poorly child it means everything to see their child find some of their sparkle again. When Bertie is in hospital, hooked up to oxygen, on regular nebulizers, and feeling miserable, the happiness and smiles that a visit from the play-team, some toys and playtime brings to him, means the absolute world to us.
We want to say a huge thank you to all the staff on the Children’s Ward, and we want to make a real difference to children who visit the Ward. We hope you will support us!
Thank you!
