Story
In 2024 for the first time I am taking on a swimming challenge for charity. I am part of team of swimmers that will swim for a 24 hour period in June at a Shepperton Lake. It means I will swim for an hour three times during that period. The charity we are supporting is Level Water and the extract below gives the feel of the opportunities they provide:
The first splash. The holding your breath. The echoes of laughter. The wet hair. The lifted spirits. The joy of gliding through water. The smile that lasts all day.
Swimming is like nothing else. The skills you develop, the confidence you build and the joys you feel are all universal. Yet access to swimming in the UK is not.
At Level Water, we use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities.
Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
Any contribution for this charities work large or small would be very welcome.
