Story
I am raising money for our local MNDA in Kent as a friend was diagnosed with this cruel condition last year. She and her husband have had support from East and Mid Kent MNDA.
On Mother's Day this year I hosted an Afternoon Tea for 64 in our Village Hall with the help of amazing friends, raising £1800 for our local MND Associations, which was just incredible. Yet there is more to do and I want to "do".
I last ran a Marathon (London) over 20 years ago, more as a rite of passage than a real desire. This time it is different. I have a clear motivation to raise money for MNDA and I already have my training plan organised for the next 5 months. Above all I am excited!!!! My husband has shaken his head in disbelief at me (yet again), but he is incredibly supportive and knows if I set my mind to something it will happen.
I will be keeping updates on this page so you can see my progress, both positive and less positive (I am a realist after all), but that is part of the adventure. I hope you enjoy my tales and you never know, you might get some inspiration to do something you did not think you could do. Trust me, if I can do this, anyone can, you just need to believe and manage both the ups and downs. It does not need to be a physical activity like running, just something that is important to you.
All monies raised will be divided equally between East Kent MNDA and Mid Kent MNDA.
The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. By sponsoring me your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure, your details are safe - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Thank you for visiting my page.
