Story
Moustache for your support,
I personally like to thank you for taking the time being on this page.
I am WO2 (Warrant Officer, Class 2) ‘AL’ Furminger and currently serving in the Corps of Royal Engineers. Being someone in the Armed Forces and having two children myself and knowing how lucky I am to see my kids grow, there are so many children out there who have lost their parent through either an accident or during tour of duty.
This got me thinking, as I am nearing the time out of the Army and thought how could I give something back. Therefore, I have grown a gentleman moustache for over a year, to the embarrassment of some family and friends. All have seen have seen its progress of growth to their amusement. It was never my intention to keep it, although it is now my ambition to be sat on a Winchester grand chair, my grandads pocket watch, glass of Port, pipe and newspaper when I finally depart from the Army.
Therefore, I will remove the tash once and for all during my dine out after 24 Years Colour Service on the 26 May 23. There is no comparison of losing a tash with that of losing a parent.
Your help in this fund raising event for a well worthy cause is greatly appreciated and will be warmly received.
The charity:
Scotty's Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent, who served in the British Armed Forces.
Inspired by the experience of Army widow Nikki Scott following the death of her husband Cpl Lee Scott in Afghanistan in 2009, the charity is currently providing assistance to hundreds of bereaved Forces children around the UK.
Scotty's provide help and support to bereaved military children and young people aged 0-25, through four Family Programmes; Smiles, Support, Strides and Springboard. You can find out more on the programmes by heading over to their website. https://www.scottyslittlesoldiers.co.uk
