Our remarkable, fun loving , compassionate, caring, amazing , loving, crazy , daughter in law Rachel, sadly lost her brave fight against cancer on 6th January 2019.
Rachel loved life and lived it to the fullest until it was devastatingly cut short due to advanced colorectal cancer which was overlooked due to her young age of 33.
Colorectal cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among people under 50. Millennials (people born between 1981-1996) have twice the risk of colorectal cancer compared to those born in 1950, according to a recent study. The same research found that people under age 55 are nearly 60% more likely to be diagnosed with late-stage disease than older adults. That makes the odds of surviving the colon cancer more challenging.
Rachel’s family have tirelessly continued to raise awareness of this awful disease and to raise money to help fund research.
We are hoping to raise £1000 in Rachel’s memory in aid of Bowel Cancer Uk. We are aiming to complete the Portuguese coastal stage of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage from Porto to Santiago de Compostela , totalling 270k .
We would be very grateful for anything you can donate and please share this with your friends and family.
Bowel cancer Uk is the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity.
They fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
