Walking with Frodo to Mordor (and Aragorn to Minas Tirith)

We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Update - Having walked the journey of Frodo and Sam, I'm now retracing the journey of Aragorn from the breaking of the Fellowship at Parth Galen to the battle at the Black Gate at Mordor. It seems walking is habit-forming!

I am walking to Mordor with Mr Frodo - it's a way of keeping me active while doing something for a cause I care about, having seen what misery Alzheimer's can wreak.

One does not simply walk into Mordor...

I'm tracking steps through a staged walk over several months, in an attempt to trace the walk of Frodo and Sam in The Lord of the Rings. My steps will be monitored (my Fitbit will link to Conqueror Challenges, who specialise in this kind of thing) and I'll receive official markers as I complete the various stages of the journey. Any support you give will go to the charity, not to pay for my fancy medals. Think of me as a humble gardener from The Shire, not quite sure what I'm doing but trying to do the right thing, and support me and Alzheimer's Research UK if you can.

I'll post updates as I go along - I understand that we are going to go right outside The Shire, which is a frightening thought for a hobbit, but Mr Gandalf says that ring has to be destroyed, and he says I'm not to let Mr Frodo out of my sight, so I will see where this takes me...
