Story
My name is Vinny McCluskey. I am 15 years old. I love, love, love my long hair. It makes me feel safe when I'm frightened and keeps meme brave and strong. When mum brushes my hair or tries to cut it I worry my hair will bleed and hurts so much. I would say my hair is my favourite thing. So some children who get cancer lose all their hair, they don't have any at all, and that's not very fair. I have to be the person who helps other people feel proud of themselves so they can have my hair and they will love it as much as me. We have to give people our things if they need some more than us.
The owner of Whelan's Hairdressers in Chellaston is being as brave as me because I really don't like my hair touched. My sister Charlotte-Mai has already had hers cut to donate at Ellewis salon in Belper (thank you Sharon), and my friends Phil and Celia aare coming to help me.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
