Story
This September I am joining The Wave Project with their 'Get on Board' challenge! The Wave Project help to improve the mental health and well-being of young people across the UK, through the power of surf therapy.
The Ocean has helped save my life and given me hope for the future and I want to support The Wave Project in giving as many young people as possible the chance to discover how it can make an amazing change in every aspect of their lives too - thank you so much for your donation
My Challenge
Every day in September I will be doing something connected to the Ocean / my bodyboard – living in the Lake District will make this a wee bit challenging so I’m going to be creative……some things may have very tenuous links! I’ll be posting pictures here & on Social Media so you can see for yourself.
Because The Wave Project supports Neurodivergent young people, it would be amazing to raise a bit of awareness around Neurodivergent AuDHD brains, well mine at least........ currently I’ve got my fingers crossed that ADHD brain, who got hugely excited when it heard about the Wave Project, can "get on board" with the plans that Autistic brain has decided on & that both brains won’t get too overwhelmed with the demand of having to do something everyday - that's what's going to be the real challenge for me!
As well as raising money it will be great to be able to share with and inspire folks, that don’t live that close to any surf, to think of creative ways that will help them to stay connected to the Ocean and have a lot of fun too.
IT TURNS OUT YOU CAN ONLY DO 500 CHARACTERS IN EACH UPDATE.....IF YOU WANT TO SEE EVERY DAY'S ADVENTURES IN FULL WITH ALL THE BACK STORIES THEY'RE ALL ON INSTAGRAM - @alisonfaulconbridge
