Story
So, on Sunday 1 December, I shall be jingling my way around Buxton's Pavilion Gardens to raise money for Blythe House Hospice.
And the best bit of this Festive 5k?.......
I'll be doing it (with hundreds of other Father Christmases) in a fluffy red Santa suit, sleigh bells and a furry white beard (plus cultivating my own impressive chin whiskers specially for the occasion). I promise there will be pictures!
My lovely dad who passed away in 2003 spent his final days in a hospice and our family will never forget the wonderful care, kindness and compassion we were all shown at the most difficult of times for us.
Blythe House provides 24/7 care across North Derbyshire; including services for people and their families affected by life-limiting illness, counselling, physiotherapy, occupational and complementary therapies, nursing appointments and bereavement support.
£20 will provide a bereaved child with a memory box to store treasured items to remember their loved ones.
£40 will pay for one hour of family support for families adapting to the impacts of a life-limiting illness.
£50 will provide a physiotherapy session for a patient struggling with the mobility affects of their illness.
£100 funds two hours of Hospice care for a patient who wishes to remain at home.
