This started off as a "hell yeah that sounds fun". Then the reality of 10km across a very hilly, boggy Exmoor hit in. And as if that wasn't enough, there's a 150m open water swim (chilly) and a crawl through a cave (dark, enclosed..) The lead up to the event quickly became an exercise in mind control. But I so wanted to do something that helps my colleagues carry on their truly amazing work helping nature that can't speak for itself and local people have experiences in nature, whether by creating and maintaining those spaces or putting on events to make nature an accessible thing. It also helped that I had peer pressure, sorry, support from the amazing Natalie who signed up with me... And we did it! Legs quietly humming but for the people and the wildlife of Somerset I'll take that 🐾🌱😊
