As President of the Birmingham Law Society, I will be running my first ever marathon in aid of The Social Mobility Foundation in April 2024.

As many of you will know, social mobility is a cause very close to my heart. At a young age, I realised that whilst someone’s background should never impact what they go on to achieve, it can and it does - and I have made it my mission to do something about that.

The Social Mobility Foundation aims to ensure that talent from all backgrounds is nurtured and rewarded. It runs a careers programme to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds from Year 12 through to their first job. It also supports employers to become more inclusive in their own practices. The more funding that the charity receives, the more people they can support.
