Story

Myself and David have set ourselves a challenge of walking from Babbacombe, Torquay, to Exeter, the distance of a marathon in aid of the Royal Papworth Charity.

Papworth Hospital saved David’s life when he was very unwell with his heart back in 2011. He had first of its kind surgery and was looked after there for 8 weeks. Luckily thanks to his care he is now fit and healthy and we want to challenge ourselves to be able to give something back.

Royal Papworth Charity exists to support the ground-breaking work of Royal Papworth Hospital. With increasing pressures on the NHS, the Charity plays a vital role in ensuring that the Hospital continues to provide the highest standards of care by investing in staff development, improving the Hospital environment for our patients and supporting research into new ways of treating heart and lung disease. Our patients, their families and the staff are at the heart of everything we do, this is all made possible by the generosity of our supporters.
