Story
On November 3rd, I will be taking the streets of New York and running 26.2 miles on behalf of the JDJ Charitable Foundation.
Growing up, I had the opportunity to witness my stepdad's unwavering dedication to his nonprofit organization, which provides support for homeless youth in New Haven. Inspired by the commitment he and his colleagues had towards the community they served, I began volunteering in high school and have continued throughout my career at Deloitte. From organizing field days for elementary school students, to leading 5K runs and walk challenges to support local nonprofits, and bringing my colleagues together to volunteer at the Bridgeport Rescue Mission for our annual Impact Day, I have found an immense sense of purpose and appreciation through giving back to our communities.
The JDJ Charitable Foundation has a broad reach and provides aid to a wide variety of charities and causes to serve the local community. Some initiatives include funding cancer research at leading hospitals in the Northeast, offering financial support to families battling cancer, and providing power adaptive pediatric wheelchairs for children with physical disabilities.
This will be my 4th marathon, and the one I'm looking forward to completing the most. This time around, I know the early mornings enduring the summer heat will all be worth it because I'm running for a cause that aligns with my values of fostering and supporting our diverse communities.
100% of every dollar donated will have a direct impact and be put towards helping a family in need. Thank you for your support and your generosity. More information about the JDJ Charitable Foundation can be found here: https://www.jdjfoundation.org/
