Story
In September, I will walk up England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, to raise money for the brilliant rehab service I work at, Phoenix Futures.
I will walk in memory of my lovely dad, Pete Henry, an avid hill walker who spent many of his happiest times up on the peaks of the Lake District with his family and friends.
“Help us end the stigma of addiction and celebrate recovery through our 3 peaks challenge”
The first of the Rise Up Challenges, My Recovery Mountain will take place in September, where teams of people using our services, volunteers and staff will each climb one of the 3 Peaks; Snowden, Scafell and Ben Nevis. We need your help to make this project a reality.
Recovery from addiction takes strength, courage, pride, passion, and lots of hard work. When we provide the right care and support many thousands of people celebrate their recovery from addiction each year.
Addiction is a complex health condition that can affect anyone and effects everyone differently. Substance use is often heavily stigmatised, and that stigma stops us seeking help, it limits funding for vital recovery services, and curbs everyday opportunities for us to move forwards in life. Phoenix works to coax, inspire, and demonstrate a vision of what a life without substances can look like.
