Story
On 11th January we received the devastating news that my husband, Paul has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. He is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy at Addenbrooke's Hospital, but it is likely that he will need a stem cell transplant as part of his treatment.
During this difficult time, Macmillan Cancer Support has been an incredible source of help, offering invaluable resources, and emotional support to our family. To give back to this amazing charity, my dad and I are taking on the challenge of walking 26.2 miles to raise money for Macmillan.
In addition to fundraising, I would love for everyone who donates—or anyone who is willing—to consider registering as a stem cell donor. A stem cell transplant can be a lifesaving treatment for people with blood cancer, and by signing up, you could one day be the match that gives someone a second chance at life. You can register through organizations like Anthony Nolan or DKMS.
Your support means a lot to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
