Story
This is about a woman I sadly never knew.
My admirable colleague Paul, lost his beloved wife Anna to triple negative breast cancer 10 years ago. Had she lived, she would have been the same age as me; and was a mother and keen runner... It feels poignant.
Paul and Anna set up Team Verrico to continue flying her flag: To support families affected by cancer; educate communities and fund vital clinical trials.
To honour Anna's death a decade on, Paul is midway through a monumental challenge to run 10 marathons, in 10 months, in 10 countries.
I am - along with a small team from Eversheds Sutherland - supporting Paul next month for Marathon #6 in Riga (Latvia) and seeking to bolster his epic fundraising efforts. He hopes to raise £52,000 to pay for a second stage cancer research trial at the University of Sheffield, to hopefully extend the lives of cancer sufferers with metastatic disease.
www.10in10.co.uk sets out the research project this challenge is funding.
Anna's untimely death will not be in vain.
Please support in any way you can - and thank you so much for helping us to beat this unyielding disease.
