Story
I am walking everyday in June to raise money for the National Kidney Federation. This is a national challenge to walk a combined total of 70,951 steps which represents the total number of people in the UK with a kidney transplant or on dialysis. This is a personal challenge for me to get more active and raise money for the charity to help people.
For over 45 years, the National Kidney Federation has provided an array of National patient support services and campaigned for improvements to renal provision and treatment working closely with healthcare professionals and lobby to government.
The NKF offers a National Freephone Helpline and Peer Support Service 0800 169 09 36 offering information leaflets, help and advice - with trained staff answering around 200 calls a week.
The charity supports 3.25 million people with Chronic Kidney Disease (stages 3 to 5) in the UK.
