Communicare in Southampton is a good neighbours charity helping people across the city of Southampton.

I had the honour of running for them last year and can't wait to do it again for this fabulous local charity. I work closely with Communicare in my role and we have worked on many different projects and they have always been great fun and successful. Without vital fundraising this wonderful charity wouldn't be able to do the fantastic work they do day in day out.

Last year, the amazing volunteers touched the lives of 860 people, covering some 2,800 tasks including face-to-face befriending, telephone befriending, transport to medical appointments, shopping for those who are housebound, collecting prescriptions and DIY & gardening. Communicare also offers regular lunch clubs and tea parties and a postal project!

The volunteers make a real difference in helping to ease loneliness and isolation in Southampton.
