These sweet 13-week old kittens are Ali and Katie, who came into our care at the United Kingdom Cat Centre back at the beginning of October.

The kittens were left in a cardboard box on a local high street at just 9-weeks old. Luckily, the brilliant volunteers from the local East Surrey branch quickly collected the kittens and brought them to the United Kingdom Cat Centre. Once the kittens were in our care, they were vet-checked. Despite their stressful ordeal, both were physically unharmed other than requiring treatment for worms, and we are so pleased to say that they are now off to their forever homes after being neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Ali (tabby) is a confident young lad, but Katie (black) is a bit more nervous and shy. As they settle into their forever home, their personalities will continue to show and, hopefully by following Ali’s lead, Katie will come out of her shell more.

At Cats Protection, we have seen the rate of abandoned cats and kittens increase by over 30% this year. Cats will never know why they’ve been abandoned. They only know the cold, fear and hunger, and that they’re far from home. But their journey doesn’t end there. Our expert team will get to know every abandoned cat so we can find their perfect owner and home, and ensure they’re healthy and ready to continue their journey.
