Story
A catastrophe hits the African countries of Morocco and Libya.
Morocco has been hit by a devastating earthquake which has caused more than 2900 deaths, and over 5000 people have been injured. People have lost their homes, are struggling to get access to food and clean water.
Following the earthquake, Libya was struck by Storm Daniel, which has caused unimaginable damage and destruction. Dams have collapsed and entire communities have been erased. The death toll has increased from 6,000 to almost 20,000. The severe flooding will cause an increase in the spread of waterborne diseases, and there is an urgent need for medical aid. Thousands of people are still missing, those that are alive have been displaced and are in need of basic necessities like food, clean water and immediate shelter.
How can we help?
Al Huda Institute has partnered with IDRF to provide urgent aid to those affected by the earthquake and the flood. IDRF is on the ground, collaborating with local partners, to help provide temporary shelter, urgent medical aid, clean water and food, and help with search and rescue efforts.
The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” [Sahih al-Bukhari]
