Fundraising for Winston's Wish
Hello and welcome to my Just Giving Page, a dedicated space to raise funds for Winston’s Wish, the UK’s first children and young people’s bereavement charity.
Some of you may have seen me before; I was the recent winner of the BBC hit show Race Across the World along with my good friend Owen.
Earlier this year I become a proud ambassador for Winston’s Wish after I shared my own, very personal story of childhood bereavement. As some of you will know, I suffered the death of my Mum when I was five years old.
Anybody who has been touched by grief will know just how horrible it is, none of us want to have to deal with it and that’s especially true for young people like me who found themselves having to contend with growing up with grief.
That’s why Winston’s Wish means so much to me because they help young people to feel reassured that they aren’t the only one going through all the emotions following a bereavement and they give hope that they can go on to live a full life. The charity also provides on-demand services which means young people themselves and the adults around them, from parents to teachers, can quickly talk to a bereavement worker to find advice and support.
Winston’s Wish’s vision is that no child is left to grieve alone and, as I am keen to be a grief advocate, I am pleased to be able to lend my voice and my experiences to such a powerful cause.
By donating today, you help to ensure that the UK’s bereaved children and young people are not left without the support they need to navigate their youth whilst coping with bereavement. I really appreciate everybody who spreads the word about this incredible charity and those who are able to donate something so that these services can be accessible for the grieving young people who need the support.
