I have been volunteering with HCPT since 1999. The charity brings the experience of Lourdes to disabled and disadvantaged children many of whom would never have the opportunity to travel or have a holiday. For some families this also provides much needed respite.

This year I will be running the Brighton Marathon on 6th April and then starting the 550 mile cycle ride from Paris to Lourdes the week after. There will be a day to recover before the kids and helpers in my group from Poplar and Canning Town arrive for a non-stop week of activities.

It costs around £1000 for each child, which is fund-raised by volunteers, who also pay their own fare.
