Story
I am running my first ever half marathon in loving memory of my gorgeous dad, Barry John Woods.
When I lost my dad in October 2024, all I wanted to do was run. My body was telling me to run, I don’t know why - for the endorphins maybe? So I set myself a challenge to run a 10k by Christmas and I did it.
Running has helped me massively through my initial stages of grief and it only feels right to continue this and challenge myself further going into the new year without my dad, helping keep me mentally focused.
I like to call it, “chasing endorphins”.
I have chosen to raise money for the North West Air Ambulance service as this is a charity my dad would generously give to monthly, due to his appreciation of what this specific service does for people in need. He would often watch them on TV and tell me how special these people were in saving peoples lives. Because of this, my run is dedicated to my dad, his golden heart and the charity he gave to.
Any amount donated would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
