Story
I am taking part in the Great North Run to support St Barnabas Hospice.
This is something that is going to be a great personal challenge for me and I would like to share my motivations for choosing this challenge and why St Barnabas is my chosen charity...
Part of my reason for choosing St Barnabas is in memory of my Grandad who unfortunately passed away last year. In the days before and after his passing, the nurses from St Barnabas did whatever they could to make an obviously very difficult time for me and my family slightly more bearable.
Secondly, I am dedicating this run to my Step Dad who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the summer of 2022. Although a very difficult time, I am hoping that this run and the money raised will make a difference, no matter how small. St Barnabas have been and continue to be nothing but brilliant in making the services and help that they offer accessible to me and my family.
So, I am hoping to complete the Great North Run in dedication to two of the most important people in my life. Therefore, I would be so grateful for anything that you are able to donate. I completely appreciate that this is a difficult time financially for so many, so if you are unable to donate then please don't underestimate how much sharing my page with others could also help!
No matter how big or small any donations are, together, they all make a difference. By way of example, every £18.84 raised will enable St Barnabas to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
Thank you in advance for any donations - I truly appreciate your support.
