Story
Alex and Family are travelling to Malawi this summer for 2 months while he volunteers at the LION Hand Unit, running specialist hand clinics and regular hand trauma and elective lists, while promoting sustainability through education and training as part of a 5-year project.
The vision of the BSSH BAHT LION Project is to use our resource to deliver maximum possible benefit for patients in need of hand surgery in Malawi through the development and co-ordination of sustainable educational and surgical training.
LION aspires to become self-sufficient in the provision of specialist hand services by the end of the project.
