Hackney Half Marathon 2025 for Carers UK

Fundraising for Carers UK
I am putting on my running shoes and taking on the Hackney Half Marathon in May to raise awareness for the 5.8 million unpaid carers who go the extra mile every single day.
Carers UK offers vital resources, information, advice, advocacy and a supportive community for those providing care to a loved one who is ill, disabled, or elderly.
I'm running for Carers UK because I've seen first-hand how tough life can be for carers, and it is vital that there are charities like Carers UK who can support and advocate for them.
Both my dad and my grandma were carers and faced immense challenges caring for their loved ones. My dad cared for his ill mother when he was just a teenager, and my grandma spent years caring for her husband as he battled Alzheimer's.
For both of them, caring for their loved ones was tough and often emotionally and physically draining, but it was something that they both did brilliantly. I wanted to run for Carers UK because the 5.8 million unpaid carers deserve as much support as possible.
Although I enjoy my running, I'm still pretty new to it and more comfortable running shorter distances, so there will be lots of training ahead!
Your donation, no matter how big or small, will help provide support to those who need it most.
£10 could enable two carers to join a supportive Care for a Cuppa online chat and take a break from their caring responsibilities
£25 could allow a trained adviser to run a Zoom advice session, helping to connect two carers who are new to caring, bringing them together to share crucial information and support.
Thank you so much!
With your support, we can make a real difference and help give unpaid carers the recognition and support they deserve.
