Story

Hello, my name is Alex Ponzini and I have set up this fundraiser to help homelessness for the borough, City of Westminster. On my commute to work I regularly see homeless men and women across our streets and we at BAM Space House are determined to make a change.

In the UK, homelessness is at its highest in Westminster, this is where The Connection have been working for over 100 years. We believe that no one should be on the streets at any time of year.

At The Connection they are here for people experiencing homelessness, every day. They get to know people, building lasting relationships as they recover from life on the streets and move on to fulfilling futures.

We have set our goal to raise £5,000 and we are tackling the task to hike the three largest peaks in the UK in under 24 hours. We will start at Ben Nevis, working our way down to Scaffell Pike and finally finishing off at Mount Snowdon.

The Team (from left to right):

Richard Burchell, Seth Turnbull, Hope Caraher, Terry O'Brien, Calogero Venniri, David Packham, Richard Dryland, Alex Ponzini, William Guthrie, Kavan Green and Caitlin Cronin.

Anthony Ambrose and Rowan Williams will also be joining us on our ascent of the three peaks but were too camera shy!

Any donations to our challenge would be greatly appreciated to this great cause.

Alex.

About the charity

The Connection at St Martin’s is here to be with people as they recover from life on the streets and move on to meaningful, fulfilling futures and a place to call home. We work with people, not for them, and put every individual person at the centre of their recovery.
