Story
13 years ago I lost my dad, Calogero (Charlie), to heart disease. Losing a father at such a foundational age was tough and anyone close to me knows the difficulties around this. Unfortunately, every 5 minutes someone else in the UK dies from heart-related diseases and another child is potentially left fatherless.
My dad was born with congenital heart disease and consequently experienced issues his entire life. Despite numerous complications, the fantastic work of charities like Heart Research UK enabled him to live a healthy life for 42 years.
In April 2024 I will be running the London marathon to raise money for Heart Research UK. Heart Research UK is on a mission to help people like my dad through pioneering medical research, support, and education. They provide funding for lifesaving research projects dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.
Any donation (& tips on running!) is extremely appreciated and helps fund groundbreaking studies that can lead to life-saving breakthroughs.
Lots of love,
Alex
