I am extremely proud to be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and feel incredibly honoured to ride at York Racecourse as one of the ‘very amateur’ jockeys in the Macmillan Race For Their Lives on June 14th 2025.

Sadly, I never met my mother-in-law Christine Kay who lost her brave battle with cancer, but her love for her family, her drive, smile and positive attitude with unrelenting care for others during her suffering makes this event even more significant.

I like so many people in the UK, have witnessed the tidal effects of cancer has on the patient, family and friends, but also the huge positive mental and physical benefits that Macmillan provides to navigate through the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

This challenge is unique alongside the fund raising. Having ridden out as an exercise jockey on racehorses many years ago, the challenge to regain full race fitness, race riding skills over the coming months is one I fully embrace and with much help from Rebecca Menzies Racing we will rise to the occasion.
