Story

Anyone who knows my Alex knows he's like a rock - in temperament and build!

So when Alex told me he was running the London Marathon in 2024 for Brain Research UK, I was about as shocked as when he first told me had a brain tumour... Alex, the rock, isn’t built for running. Alex, my rock, is uncrackable!

We first found out about Alex's tumour in 2022 after his nipple started to leak... I was pregnant with our second, Oslo, at the time, and as sweet as the sympathetic side effects were, we knew he needed to get it checked out.

Fast-forward to the present, and Alex is no longer leaky but is on some pretty strong medication to (hopefully) shrink the benign brain tumour, and avoid surgery.

We aren't typically a sentimental pair, but I am so proud of how Alex has handled the highs and lows of treatment. All whilst being a brilliant Dad and continuing to run Heka (https://www.hekahappy.com/)! And to top it off, he's been doing all that whilst training for The London Marathon (and the Vichy, Ironman 70.3).

Alex is looking to raise £4,000 for Brain Research UK, so they can continue their invaluable work. To help hit the target, we've organised a Family Fundraiser on Saturday 6th April 2024 at Gladstone Village Hall, Neston. If you you'd like to attend in person, you can buy your ticket via: https://www.eventcreate.com/e/alex-hind-brain-research-uk.

Or if you can't attend in person, please show your support here, via Alex's JustGiving page.

Thank you,

Steph Hind
