I am raising money for the Baby Unit Fund at Hull NICU, where the care given to babies, especially those who are extremely premature, is vital. I am participating in the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run Half Marathon 2025 to support this cause. The event is a half marathon scheduled for May 4th, 2025. My motivation stems from my cousin Jax (born at 25 weeks and 4 days weighing 1lb 12oz) and the incredible care provided for him by the staff at Hull Women's and Children's hospital. Jax spent 143 days in the care of the dedicated and experienced doctors and nurses and they were instrumental in saving his precious life - a little one who faced numerous medical challenges as a newborn such as PDA, collapsed lungs, sepsis and a perforated bowel. Without their exceptional care, we wouldn't have the lively, funny 5year old with us today. The target amount for this fundraising effort is £1,000. Your support will make a meaningful difference in ensuring that other families receive the same level of care and hope that Jax did.
