Macmillan Ride of their Lives 2025
Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
I am very excited to be taking part in this year’s Macmillan ‘Ride of Their Lives’ at York Racecouse in June.
A number of close friends have sadly lost family members to cancer in recent years and it has made me realise how lucky I am to not yet have experienced what they have had to go through. The ripple effect that cancer has on families can be devastating - not only is the diagnosis heartbreaking for the sufferer, but it also affects all of those around them. I have been given the opportunity to fundraise for this amazing charity, whose nurses provide invaluable support to cancer sufferers and their families, whilst also undertaking a huge personal challenge of being a jockey for the day!
I hope that my friends and family can dig deep in their pockets to support this event. I have set a big challenge for myself to raise £15,000 for Macmillan and I will be hosting lots of fundraising events between now and June to get as many people involved as possible. Thank you in advance for your kind donations. Please read below for more information about the race!

The Macmillan Charity Raceday is the oldest and largest event of its kind in the country, raising £10.5 million in its 53 year history for people living with cancer.
Held every June, the highlight of the day is the Macmillan Ride of Their Lives race that sees 12 amateur jockeys ride down the famous Knavesmire course. Each year 25,000 spectators enjoy an incredible day with us to cheer these brave riders on as they take on the challenge of their lifetime.
