Story
I'm joining #TeamSueRyder at the #Cheltenham half-marathon, to raise money for Sue Ryder's expert care here in #Gloucestershire.
When I was a teenager, a family friend developed cancer and needed inpatient support at Sue Ryder Leckhampton. When I went to visit her, I saw for myself what an extraordinary difference Sue Ryder made - both to my friend and her family - in terms of care and comfort at a difficult time. That experience made a big impression on me.
Years later, as Cheltenham's MP, I met very many families who benefited from this extraordinary local resource. Sue Ryder provides light in the darkness, and offers expert care and compassion here at home, *right in the heart of our community*. SR deserves and needs our support.
That's why, never having run more than 10k, I'm hauling myself (!) around Cheltenham for this excellent cause.
Thank you for backing my Run Cheltenham challenge!
