For people who know me personally and for some who also know me on a professional platform they know I have been subject to an emotional abuse where one parent used coercive control and manipulation through a child to get through me.

Having to have a child being wrenched twice in the last three years, where I didn’t see my son for over a year because of false allegations in family proceedings had taken a toll on me.

I have been referred to counselling sessions to overcome the sorrow and pain I have endured during this time and if it wasn’t for James from Mind Matters, I probably would not have been typing this right now. Having to recover from emotional trauma which in (my personal opinion) will always be within me as one cannot forget the trauma, but can move on with time, and the existence & freedom of one begins when one sees and begins to accept the flow of life & time and let go of trying to control its every turn.

I therefore cannot emphasise enough how important mental wellbeing is and to make sure you set aside time for yourself. Because of that, I’ve decided to climb the highest summit in Slovenia, share my story and help others who are in need as charities like mind have limited resources and hopefully with my help, another person can be helped as well.

Something about Triglav:

Triglav National Park is the only Slovenian national park. It was named after Triglav, the highest mountain in the heart of the park, which is also the highest summit in Slovenia (2864 m).  An interesting fact is that the mountain is a true national symbol and it is featured on the national coat of arms and the flag.  It is one of the oldest European parks; the first protection dates back to 1924 when the Alpine Conservation Park was founded.

I am very thankful to people from personal supportive network whom have been there for me in most critical times, as well as professional network who set me back on track.
