Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this page in memory of Albert Kelly.
Albert's whole life was heavily influenced by music. He not only played the piano beautifully and taught the piano to others, but he also conducted choirs, taught recorder ensembles, directed school musicals and was proudly a co-founder of the Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan Junior Orchestra.
He frequently played the organ and piano at Stanwell Road Baptist Church and in his youth was the Head Chorister at Llandaff Cathedral Choir in Cardiff. Even in his later life, Albert was always singing and his affectionate nick name with the carers at The Waverley Care Home in Penarth was "Choir Boy".
In lieu of flowers, Albert's family would love for his friends and family to donate to a charity which will bring the joy of music to others. Music in Hospitals & Care is a registered charity who aim to improve the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music. Every year, their professional musicians share live music with people across the UK who may not otherwise get to experience it. This includes those living with dementia, mental health problems, or who are seriously ill.
The charity regularly visit the dementia ward at Llandough Hospital and will soon be providing the magic of live music to the residents of The Waverley Care Home where Albert was so compassionately cared for in the twilight of his life.
