Story
Without wishing to shock, the unique thing about Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is that it is a death sentence from the moment of diagnosis. The profile of this cruel disease has been brought into the public domain by the death, in 2022, of Doddie Weir, the former Scottish and British Lions rugby player and, more recently by Rob Burrow, the former rugby league player, who works tirelessly to raise funds for the MND Association, but so much more needs to be done.
So, at MNDA West Sussex South Branch, we are again holding our fun, crazy annual Santa's on the Seafront 5k run along Worthing seafront (following the Parkrun route) on Saturday 9th December 2023.
If you'd like to join in the run you can pre-register using the link below:
If you would prefer to show your support by making a donation to our event, we would really appreciate it and all money raised will go towards supporting our people living with MND in the community.
We are currently supporting over 50 people and the money we raise goes towards helping with a range of things; such as help with massages, arranging transport for hospital visits, providing equipment and much more. We support the families too, because wives, husbands and children become carers, and the emotional toll it takes on everyone dealing with this disease is immeasurable.
