Story
I'm running the TCS London Marathon 2024 for Bowel Cancer UK. I love running, but a marathon will push me further than anything I've ever done.
I lost my mum, Marian to Bowel Cancer in 2021, she fought for almost 4 years and she did it so valiantly. She was my best friend and the world hasn't been the same since she left us. Mum never liked to be the centre of attention, but I've vowed to raise money in her honour.
Bowel Cancer UK are the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. They're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.
Your support will help stop people dying of bowel cancer by funding vital services and lifesaving research.
Alongside this, I am determined to raise awareness. By trying to encourage early detection, as well as more support for the patients and their families.
It's been suggested that 1/3rd of people don't return their screening kits, but early detection can save lives.
It's also important that families know where they can receive support and it's available for them, so spreading the word is vital.
Thank you so much for even reading my story and for your support!
