Story
I am one of eleven local businesspeople who have been put behind bars for Maggie's. I've been found guilty of wearing socks that are too bright, and sent down with bail set at £1,000.
With only my phone, laptop and my powers of persuasion, I need your help to raise funds to pay bail and escape jail.
I believe that we should be supporting people who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families as best we can. Supporting Maggie's raise funds to help them continue to deliver their service to our community is very important, particularly as Maggie's helps their users with emotional and practical support.
Given the likelihood of being affected by cancer is so incredibly high, I believe the service is vital to Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland.
For many people living in the Northeast, Maggie's Aberdeen is a beacon of hope, offering a unique programme of practical and psychological support, available free of charge to people at any stage and with any type of cancer, and to their family and friends.
In the past decade Maggie’s Aberdeen have received over 80,000 visits, provided tens of thousands of hours of 1-2-1 psychological and specialist cancer support and raised £9,000,000 in financial gains for local people. They rely entirely on voluntary donations and gifts in wills to fund their work, and with instances of cancer 1 in 2 people, there is huge demand for the support they provide. Please bail me out and help Maggie’s – every £ will help.
