Story
I didn't get into the #2025TCSLondonmarathon. Hey-ho, I have a plan to get me out running for the next 9 months or so though.
On Friday 25th April 2025 I will be setting off on a little run from the centre of Clerkenwell (Brewhouse Yard area) at 9am and hope to arrive home in Lightwater, Surrey some 30 miles later and with any luck before the end of my official working day (4pm on Fridays). I've called this "Clerkenwell to Couch"
Now, to some, this may not be particularly fast however I'm no runner - shuffler at best. I also had heart surgery when I was younger and the doctor said I wouldn't be up to doing endurance events. Well, I have done some but never run over 26.2 miles in one day (a little secret, last time I tried a marathon, I didn't even run the whole thing)
I'll be running for charity and I've decided that I will be running for Mind Over Mountains a charity founded by Alex Staniforth and one whose services I have used. They are attempting to raise £500,000 by June 2025 to support the amazing work they do
My aim is to raise £3250 which is enough to pay for 10 retreat places.
Mind Over Mountains is an ambitious and innovative mental health charity that enables people to thrive through therapeutic outdoor experiences. They enable people to restore and sustain their mental health and wellbeing through a highly integrated practice that brings together walking in nature, mindfulness, and professional coaching and counselling. With your help they can move mountains!
