Story
Just several weeks from now, in February, I will be driving an ambulance from London to Ukraine to donate it to the Ukrainian emergency services to replace a destroyed ambulance.
Sometimes in life, we cannot just be bystanders. I want to do my part to help.
261 ambulances destroyed, 225 damaged, 125 captured. Putin’s war machine has inflicted nearly 2,000 attacks on Ukraine’s medical system and killed over 200 doctors and nurses, and hundreds of hospital staff.
I will go to Ukraine as part of a convoy of 4 ambulances facilitated by Medical Life Lines Ukraine, a UK-based volunteer group, which has already donated 86 ambulances.
It costs £15,000 to buy a used ambulance, repair and refurbish it, and outfit it with supplies.
You are invited and welcome to be a part of this - to do what you can, to make a difference and undoubtedly save many lives and limbs. Any amount helps.
I will 100% match your donation pound for pound with a donation of equal amount of my own up to £10,000. In that way, I hope to help provide a second ambulance, as well.
Finally, I will dedicate my time and risk to ensure that the ambulance gets delivered to where it is needed most. (I have been to Ukraine twice in the past year and am accustomed to the air raids; with ample warning and an excellent shelter system, the risk can be managed and minimised.)
Let’s do this together. Please help.
Слава Україні,
Alan
