Story
A bit about Shooting Star Children's Hospice-
Shooting Star Children's Hospices supports babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families across west London and Surrey.
Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, we are here to make every moment count. We support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
A bit about me-
I have just graduated as a Newly Qualified Paramedic, this charity aligns with my beliefs within my clinical practice and moral goals. I have seen the support they offer and can provide to families as well as individuals and I hope I can do them all incredibly proud by running the Marathon and raising money for them to continue the amazing work they are doing. I believe that every moment should be made special for these families and they should feel supported through every single stage, this is where Shooting Star Children's Hospice excels.
I'm starting my training as someone who, to be honest thought they could run the marathon in under 4 hours despite stepping on a treadmill a handful of times in the past three years (probably being generous saying handful). I feel extremely lucky to have been chosen and I have already started on my training - yes admittedly running 4km but that's not that far off 42km is it?
I will be documenting my journey and posting lots of updates, fundraising events and generally just checking in to see how much closer I am to crossing that finish line! Please feel free to follow along any encouragement would be gratefully received!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page.
