Fundraising for Newcastle Hospitals Charity
Thanks for visiting this page, which is in loving memory of Aileen Pearson, aged 82, who sadly passed away 20th July 2024 after a short illness. Aileen had a kind, caring and generous spirit with a joy for life and adventure, with her cheeky humour and twinkle in her eye, she will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
The family have created this page, as instead of flowers we’re asking for donations for TyneSight charity. TyneSight is dedicated to helping the Newcastle Eye Centre at the RVI hospital. This charity was chosen by Aileen, as about 10 years ago, she experienced partial sight loss that was going to significantly impact her adventurous freedom and independence. Fortunately, she regained her full sight due to the efforts received in Newcastle Eye Centre which is supported by the TyneSight charity.
Any donations collected at the funeral will be added to this page and the money will go directly to the Newcastle Hospitals Charity, who will ensure it is all allocated to TyneSight.
Thanks for taking the time to come to the page and for donating in Aileen’s memory.
More details on the Charity
TyneSight, which is part of Newcastle Hospitals Charity (reg 1057213). It is dedicated to supporting Newcastle Eye Centre at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI). Newcastle Eye Centre is one of the largest eye departments in the UK outside London and has built a national reputation for its pioneering research and development of eye services.
Charitable funding enables us to keep pace with continual developments in medical equipment and treatment and allows us to go the extra mile and achieve things more quickly than would otherwise have been possible with central government funding alone.
All donations to TyneSight go directly to providing extra funding for the very latest equipment for our patients and to support local research and education right here in Newcastle. All donations, no matter how small, can make a big difference to help us save someone's sight.
* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
