Story

It breaks my heart that you are reading this. This page should never have existed.

On the 4th of January 2025, our darling Morag, at the age of 31, lost her fierce battle with cancer. She leaves behind her two adored children.

Morag was diagnosed with breast cancer at the incredibly young age of 19. After undergoing a single mastectomy and extensive treatment, she fought and won that battle—but sadly, the war wasn’t over. At the age of 23, she faced her next fight: skin cancer. Once again, Morag confronted this wicked disease with determination and beat it.

On the 13th of December 2024, doctors discovered tumours in her lungs, spine, and over 25 in her brain. The most harrowing words were spoken by the doctor: “I stopped counting when I got to 25…”

The word “battle” truly captures Morag’s journey, as she tackled every challenge head-on. The last thing she said to me before her operation was, “I can’t wait to get this over with.” She approached brain surgery with fire in her belly and not an ounce of fear for what lay ahead. Tragically, during her recovery post-surgery, Morag suffered a bleed on her brain. The doctors did everything they could, but they were unable to save our beloved Morag.

We are raising money for Morag’s chosen charity, CoppaFeel! This is the UK’s only youth-focused breast cancer awareness charity, and they are on a mission to get every 18-24-year-old checking their chest.

CoppaFeel educates people about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourages regular self-checks. By empowering individuals to notice anything unusual and contact their GP early, they aim to ensure more accurate diagnoses and effective treatments. Early detection can truly save lives, and in Morag's case, it gave her 12 happy years and 2 beautiful children.

Thank you for reading Morag’s story. Any donation you can make will be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go towards fighting this cruel, life-robbing disease.

I’d like to finish her story with a short poem that reflects how Morag chose to live her incredible life:

Despite not knowing

they won’t be here long,

they still choose to live

their brightest lives.
