Story
A teenage dream come true or a mid-life crisis - who knows? To learn how to DJ has always been on the to do list however I never thought it would become a reality.
Over the summer I was surprised by my husband Matt who told me that he had signed me up to this brilliant fundraiser. Matt has known since we met over eighteen years ago that I’ve always wanted to learn how to DJ. I love a party (it’s just I tend to get to bed a lot earlier now).
I am now part of a small group of people who get this wonderful experience on a 10 week intensive ‘boot camp’ where we basically learn a new language and way of living before presenting our new found skills to the party people and some selected judges on Saturday 23rd November 2024. It could go horribly wrong but it at least it will be entertaining.
MacMillan Jersey is a hugely wonderful and important charity in Jersey. The charity receives no funding from the Government of Jersey or Macmillan UK - meaning funds raised for this event are vital to the continuation of what they offer to islanders affected by cancer.
Sadly in recent years I know of friends who have been affected my Cancer and they have been supported through their illness - along with their families - by the MacMillan team in Jersey. The resources available are just wonderful and free for anyone who needs them.
‘The Oasis’ MacMillan centre is an incredible centre of resources, therapies, advice, comfort, friendship and much more. It takes £800,000 to run the centre annually and all funding is fundraised by the charity.
I do hope you will consider supporting me by helping me fundraise whilst I eat / sleep / DJ = repeat 🎧 ✊🏻 💚
