In June this year, I will be taking part in the Barnsley 10k. The Barnsley 10k will be supporting Barnsley Hospice as the official charity partner. Fifty free places were up for grabs directly through Barnsley Hospice with participants asked to raise a minimum of £100 for the charity. Rather than pay the £30 entry fee I have opted to take one of these free places and use the opportunity to raise money for Barnsley Hospice. Aiming to raise the "minimum" of £100 doesn't sit right with me, especially when in the spirit of raising money for such an amazing charity! Therefore, I will be aiming to go beyond this, setting my initial fundraising goal as £200 and hoping we can exceed this! 🙏 I'll be kicking this off by donating £30 myself, to match what would have been the cost of the entry fee.

As a charity, the hospice relies on the support of donations, grants, and legacies to raise £3.5 million towards running costs each year. If we can replicate even a fraction of the success of the fundraising from Movember 2023, then it would be great to give this to Barnsley Hospice to support them in reaching this total and allow them to continue the amazing support they provide to the people of our community.
