Story

At the Evergreen Environmental Conservation Association, we are committed to fostering a sustainable future through education and hands-on environmental stewardship. Our latest initiative, the Green Schools Project, aims to plant fruit trees in schools across our community. This project not only enhances the school environment but also serves as a living classroom for students, teaching them about ecology, nutrition, and the importance of biodiversity. By raising funds, we can expand our reach and impact, ensuring that more schools can participate in this transformative program.

What the Funds Will Be Used For:

The funds we raise will be allocated to several key areas of the Green Schools Project:

1. Tree Procurement: We will purchase a variety of fruit trees that are suitable for our local climate and soil conditions. This diversity will ensure that students can learn about different species and their ecological roles.

2. Soil Preparation and Planting: Funds will be used to prepare the soil and provide necessary materials for planting, including mulch and organic fertilizers, to ensure the trees thrive.

3. Educational Workshops: We will conduct workshops for students and teachers, focusing on the importance of trees, sustainable practices, and hands-on gardening skills. This educational component is crucial for fostering a sense of responsibility and connection to the environment.

4. Maintenance and Care: Ongoing care is essential for the success of the trees. Funds will help cover the costs of watering, pruning, and other maintenance activities, ensuring that the trees grow healthy and strong.

5. Community Engagement: We aim to involve parents and local community members in the project, fostering a sense of community ownership and pride in the initiative.

How Much We Value Your Support:

Your support is invaluable to us. Every dollar raised will directly contribute to the success of the Green Schools Project and the education of our future generations. By investing in this initiative, you are not only helping to plant trees but also nurturing a culture of environmental awareness and stewardship among young people. Together, we can create greener, healthier school environments and inspire the next generation to take action for our planet. We deeply appreciate your consideration and support in making this vision a reality. Thank you for joining us in this important mission!

About the charity

Communities for Development (CfD) was born with a clear objective, to help improve the lives of some of the poorest people in rural Uganda. Our approach includes the delivery of business and skills training and the creation of microfinance savings groups to help communities self-develop. We then assist these community members to start up their own income generating activities, to allow families to meet their basic everyday needs and further improve their long term quality of life. Communities for Development firmly believes that the community must be at the heart of their own development and this philosophy is ingrained into everything we do.
