Fibromyalgia is a recognised chronic condition of widespread pain, profound fatigue, sleep and memory issues. The pain tends to be felt as diffuse aching or burning, often described as head to toe. It may be worse at some times than at others and may also change location, usually becoming more severe in parts of the body that are used most. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain and spinal cord process painful and nonpainful signals. It is a debilitating condition that leaves its suffers classified disabled.
There are over 300 symptoms of the condition including: chronic, widespread pain throughout the body, numbness, restless leg syndrome, unrefreshing sleep & trouble sleeping, fatigue, headaches, muscle & joint stiffness, irritable bowel & digestive issues, tenderness to touch, cognitive disturbances, clumsiness, dizziness, memory loss & problems with concentrating/thinking clearly (Fibro Fog), allergies, sensitivity to light/noise/temperature & environmental changes.
There is no cure for Fibromyalgia.
We have chosen this charity as this is one of the conditions that our Charlotte unfortunately suffers from and would love to help them continue their efforts in supporting those with the illness and educating those about the effect it can have on an individual.
We would love your support in this!
