Story
So tired and weary but really chuffed with myself, this will be my last post as part of this incredible experience.
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. It made a difference to my efforts and energy levels and will make such a difference to the lives of countless children whose rights are being disregarded.
The deadline for donations is the 8th of October, so if you've been meaning to and haven't quite got round to it - now is the time to donate. My secret ambition, now you know, was to reach £3000. If you can help me towards that, it would be amazing. Thank you
I am approaching my 60th birthday and wanted to do something memorable to mark the occasion. Those who know me already understand that any form of exercise and I, are not good friends, so this is a massive effort and commitment for me. I'm not bothered by being 60 and don't want any big fuss. So instead I'm joining 50,000 others in this fabulous event and hide in the crowd.
I believe in Save the Children's determination to uphold the rights of all children across the world and champion the programs we run all year round, because they make the biggest lasting changes.
I am taking inspiration from one of our Founders - Eglantyne Jebb - she said " Save the Children is often told that its aims are impossible – that there has always been child suffering and there always will be. We know. It’s impossible only if we make it so. It’s impossible only if we refuse to attempt it." So I am attempting to make a difference and with your help, we will.
Save the Children believes that every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, they give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. They do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.
By supporting my fundraising, you are helping to give children a brighter future. Thank you!
I'm planning on proper 'Thank Yous' after the event but please know I am blown away by your generosity.
