I'm raising money for Unique Kidz and Co!

My son Harry was diagnosed with autism and developmental delay at aged 3. We started to notice when Harry was 1 years old that he wasn't quite acting like other children his age. He would flap his arms and jump up and down constantly. We saw other children learning to talk but no first word came. It became difficult for us as parents to take him out to places as he wouldn't respond well, or we'd be getting judgement from other parents as he wasn't acting the way they expected. Harry started on the pathway to getting diagnosed and we heard about Unique kidz. After a few months we decided to take him along to a stay and play session and we've been to almost every one since.

Unique kidz has offered us a place where we can relax and not worry about judgement from others, and Harry can be completely himself. Autism is an invisible disability and it can become tiresome constantly having to explain to people why he is the way he is. Here we never have to do that.

Unique kidz is a non for profit charity providing services for disabled children and young adults. They offer a safe space for children and young adults to be themselves, make friends and have fun. There is a real shortage of services like this in the area and we've found it can be difficult to find childcare facilities for a disabled child. From after school and holidays clubs to day time care facilities, Unique Kidz offers so much to the community that would otherwise be unavailable.

For those who remember pre-Harry, I had a sky dive planned for 2018 but had to back out 2 days before the jump when I saw 2 lines on a pregnancy test. Let's try this again! I will be jumping on 16th August. I'm absolutely terrified of heights, so this isn't going to be a fun or enjoyable experience for me at all. I'm doing this for Harry, and for all the other unique kids like him. Please donate whatever you can for this amazing charity!
